Puerto de La Duquesa

Puerto de La Duquesa

La Duquesa is a unique gem on the beautiful 150-kilometre stretch of coastline that runs from La Linea to about 10 kilometres east of Nerja. There are no major hotels in the area and the only accommodation available are in apartments and houses. Halfway between the two Spanish villages of Sabinillas in the north and Castillo in the south lies ‘Puerto de La Duquesa’ – the marina in La Duquesa, also called ‘The New Puerto Banús’. This will be the nearest marina to our project Ambera Duquesa.

‘Puerto de La Duquesa’ or ‘the harbour,’ as locals call it, has been used by local fishermen for many years, who use it daily to go to sea and return with fresh catches. The harbour has been rather overshadowed by other high-profile marinas in the east and Sotogrande in the west, but is now called the ‘New Puerto Banús’ because of the beautiful marina and the great facilities is has to offer.

The marina was built in the 1980s, and in addition to providing all the boating services you could need, there are also many activities to participate in — including everything from dolphin sightseeing and fishing trips to water sports.

Large selection of restaurants and bars

The restaurants along the marina offer a wide range of dishes: everything from traditional Spanish cuisine to Chinese, Indian, British and Italian. There are also several bars offering live sports, entertainment and karaoke. There are plenty of options here to enjoy an evening out with family and friends!
